New trucking regs may mean safer roads and costlier produce

A new federal mandate that requires long-distance truckers to electronically log their time behind the wheel may succeed in making the roads safer to drive. It will also mean that drivers make fewer trips to make deliveries, driving up the cost of products such as produce, as well.
