Nabisco changes Animal Crackers box design in response to PETA protest

The packaging on Barnum’s Animal Crackers has traditionally included an image of wild animals in a caged circus car. The new box no longer has the animals behind bars after Nabisco’s parent company was contacted by the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, which pointed out that circuses have been guilty of using force to make wild animals perform tricks.
