Sears takes solace for smaller than expected decline in comp sales

Most retailers would not be feeling good after posting a 3.9 percent decline in same-store sales during the second quarter, but for Sears Holdings that beats the 11.9 percent drop in the first. The company continues to close Kmart and Sears stores in an effort to cut costs while attempting to sell its Kenmore brand to raise needed cash.
