Consumers, not just Prime members, would like to see an Amazon bank

Amazon.com is likely to find success if it follows through on plans to offer financial services to Prime subscribers, according to research by Bain & Co. Nearly two-thirds of Prime members said they would sign up for a free checking account if it was offered by Amazon. Forty-three percent of people who are Amazon shoppers, but not Prime subscribers, would also be interested as would 37 percent of people who do not shop on the e-tail giant’s site.
