Mall of America benefits from ‘Opportunity Zone’ status

The eastern corner of Bloomington, MN is considered an “Opportunity Zone” under a program created by Congress in 2017, which provides tax breaks for individuals and companies that invest in some of the poorest areas of the country. Some question why The Mall of America would qualify for such status citing the success it has had in recent years.
