Lampert submits revised bid to keep Sears open

Eddie Lampert, who previously bid $4.4 billion to acquire Sears Holdings and keep 425 of the company’s stores open, has submitted a new offer valued at $5 billion after being rebuffed the first time around. With the new offer, Mr. Lampert has agreed to assume tax and vendor bills not included in the previous bill.
