Study: Depreciation law works against business investment

Researchers at Duke University and Grinnell College have analyzed bonus depreciation, a law that allows businesses to deduct the full dollar amount of equipment purchases when purchased, and concluded that its inclusion in the Tax Cut and Jobs Act of 2017 has not led to additional investment, had no effect on wages and merely a modest impact on jobs.
