Border shutdown would be bad news for U.S. economy

President Trump has threatened to close the southern border in an attempt to prevent immigrants seeking legal asylum to get to the U.S. If Mr. Trump were to act on his threat, there would be almost immediate negative ramifications for the U.S. economy, including food shortages, price hikes and Americans, at least temporarily, losing jobs that are dependent on imports from Mexico.
