Bed Bath & Beyond closing 40 stores and opening 15 others

Bed Bath & Beyond will close at least 40 stores in the coming year and may add others to the list if not able to negotiate more favorable lease terms with landlords, according to the retail company’s chief financial officer and treasurer, Robyn D’Ella. The retailer, which operates more than 1,500 stores across a variety of banners, expects to open 15 new locations in 2019.
