Retail sales improved in May

U.S. retail sales rose 0.5 percent in May, lower than the 0.5 percent gain forecast by economists. Sales from April were revised upward from a gain of 0.2 percent to 0.3 percent. Most retail categories showed gains for May with only clothing, department, food and miscellaneous stores showing declines.
