Amazon’s profits fall short of Wall Street’s expectations

Amazon.com posted a second-quarter profit of $5.22 a share, below the $5.56 consensus among analysts. The e-tail and tech giant reported a revenue increase of 20 percent during the quarter. Amazon has increased spending as it moves to transition to one-day shipping for Prime members.
