CVS shares rise on strong quarterly results

CVS Health posted earnings per share of $1.89 in the second quarter, higher than the Wall Street consensus of $1.69. The company’s pharmacies filled 19 percent more prescriptions than the same quarter last year. Front of store sales also ticked upward, with customers purchasing more over-the-counter remedies such as cough medicine.
