Platt Retail Institute believes that others are being too conservative in their outlooks for the holiday season. The company is forecasting a sales increase of between 4.4 and 4.8 percent. Others have issued reports forecasting increases of between 3 and 4 percent on top of last year’s 5.6 percent jump.
