Analyst: Home Depot and Lowe’s will weather housing softness

The two top home improvement chains in the U.S. have lost the momentum of a booming housing market of past years, but that doesn’t mean the two shouldn’t fare well in the coming quarters. UBS analyst Michael Lasser expects Home Depot to post a gain in same-store sales of five percent on Nov. 13 while Lowe’s comps should be up three percent when it reports a week later.
