Apple Stores turned dwell time into an art form, but there’s a downside

Apple famously created environments where customers are encouraged to linger because, as any marketing prof will tell you, the longer you can get customers to hang out, the more likely it is they’ll buy. But what happens when stores are so popular they become annoyingly overcrowded and the “seamless” purchasing experience is hampered?
