Artificially sweetened soft drinks may be connected to dementia, stroke risks

People who drank at least one artificially sweetened drink a day were found to have a three-times greater risk of developing dementia or suffering a stroke, according to “Stroke,” the journal of the American Heart Association. The study’s authors said its findings were not conclusive and suggested the need for further research on the topic.
