Brand marketing drives kids’ sugary drink consumption

Consumer packaged goods companies selling sugary drinks spent $21 million last year to promote these products. Nearly two-thirds of beverages marketed to children contain sweeteners, according to a study released by the Rudd Center for Food Policy & Obesity at the University of Connecticut.
