Everything We Know About Burger King’s New Frozen Pink Lemonade Drink
September 2, 2024
Burger King has announced that it is launching a new Frozen Pink Lemonade drink in celebration of the upcoming VMAs, which are put on by MTV. The drink will only be available for a limited time.
Burger King’s Newest Beverage
In a press release, it was revealed that with the release of its newest beverage, Frozen Pink Lemonade, Burger King hopes to bring some cooler weather. As of Aug. 29, guests around the country are now able to savor this delectably sweet and tangy frozen beverage. This year’s MTV Video Music Awards (also known as the “VMAs”) will feature the new Frozen Pink Lemonade as the frozen drink of choice because it deserves its moment in the spotlight on one of the biggest evenings in music.
“This marks the fifth year in a row that we’ve partnered with Paramount and MTV, and the first time we’re introducing a product inspired by the VMAs – our new Frozen Pink Lemonade,” said Pat O’Toole, the chief marketing officer of Burger King North America, in a statement accompanying the press release. “We’re excited to be the frozen drink of the VMAs – a drink that’s just as cool and vibrant as the show itself, and I can’t think of a better venue to showcase our new drink for music and BK fans alike.”
Additionally, Burger King and MTV have collaborated to produce an engrossing 75-second short film that perfectly captures the exuberant mood of the VMAs and is inspired by the new drink’s refreshing and revitalizing attributes. The world-famous performers Les Twins and multi-platinum Grammy Award-winning Dancehall superstar Sean Paul are featured in this short film, which was produced by Paramount Brand Studio. It will make its debut on Wednesday, Sept. 11, during the live broadcast of the VMAs.
Major Changes Coming
News of the newest beverage comes hot on the heels of Burger King announcing major changes to its menu.
Burger King’s “Reclaim the Flame” campaign, according to Eat This, Not That, is all about promoting its famous Whopper with new taste options and premium branding. The restaurant is also looking for enthusiasts to assist in designing its upcoming Whopper creation, which will be unveiled this year.
As part of its “Reclaim the Flame” campaign, Burger King invested $250 million to update its restaurants with new cooking appliances, cutting-edge technology, and a more modern aesthetic — all while paying homage to the Whopper. The company said in April that it will increase the budget for store renovations by $300 million.
Additionally, the enormous fast-food business officially bid adieu to its original mozzarella sticks in May of this year, but it didn’t take long to switch them out for Mozzarella Fries, a unique twist on the beloved snack. The Mozzarella Fries are now a regular menu item at Burger King restaurants across the nation, despite being initially offered as a test item in Columbus, Ohio, in 2023.
A Philly Melt, a new Birthday Pie Slice, a Philly Royal Crispy Wrap, and a new Fiery Menu with five scalding items and beverages are among other new menu items. In addition, Burger King tested a limited-edition frozen cotton candy beverage this spring and a line of flame-grilled chicken sandwiches and wraps in a few markets in June.
In order to directly compete with McDonald’s $5 Value Meal, the restaurant also served a $5 Your Way value meal. Lastly, Restaurant Brands International (RBI), the chain’s parent company, thinks that the wave of large-scale store closures that dotted the first part of the year is now complete.
