China responds to Trump’s tariffs with some of its own

The Chinese government has imposed tariffs on $60 billion in U.S. imports in response to the Trump administration imposing new levies on $200 billion worth of goods imported from China. Following the announcement of China’s action, President Trump tweeted, incorrectly, that China’s government had “openly stated” it was seeking to influence upcoming Congressional elections in the U.S.
