Drugstore chains taking MDs to court over opioids

Major drugstores and other pharmacy retailers are suing physicians in Cuyahoga and Summit counties in Ohio claiming that doctors and other prescribers should have to pay some of the penalties that are likely to be imposed on retailers in federal litigation due to go to court in October. There are currently over 2,500 lawsuits filed against various parties involved in the U.S. drug industry over the opioid epidemic which has resulted in the overdose deaths of more than 400,000 people over the past 20 years.
