E-commerce investments hit Walmart in the bottom line

Same-store sales rose 1.2 percent for Walmart in the third quarter, the ninth straight increase, while traffic improved 0.7 percent. The company, which has invested billions of dollars in upgrading its e-commerce capabilities, saw its profit fall 8.2 percent during the quarter.
