Firehouse Subs Released Its New French Dip Sandwich, But It’s Only Available for a Limited Time

December 15, 2024

Firehouse Subs has released a new limited-edition sandwich for its patrons to enjoy. The popular sandwich shop unveiled its new French Dip Sandwich earlier this week. Let’s take a look at what we know about this new offering.

Firehouse Subs Unveiled the French Dip Sandwich

Allrecipes is reporting that Firehouse Subs has its consumers covered with its new French dip, which is only available for a short time.

The first ingredient in the French dip is a toasted garlic butter roll stuffed with roast beef. Provolone and Swiss cheeses melt over caramelized onions to keep everything together, and a dash of Italian seasoning adds a touch of flair. What’s the best part? An au jus that is hot enough to dip your sandwich into.

Are you salivating already? Joining the Firehouse Subs rewards program could be beneficial. The brand’s 12 Days of Loyalty program will offer diners new benefits every day from Dec. 11 to Dec. 23. On Friday, Dec. 13, the French Dip sandwich was available for the discount price of $7 (or $8 at West Coast locations).

And the sandwich chain’s followers couldn’t get enough of the stuff on Instagram, with comments coming in left and right about how amazing the offering was.

“From Ecuador I hope to try it soon, it looks fantastic,” wrote one fan from Central America. “Had a small one recently and loved it best French Dip I had,” wrote another.

Other fans, however, seemed more interested in the “spoke-firefighter,” Carlos, the guest on the Instagram post. Fans couldn’t get enough of the “stud” (as one commenter remarked) who was raving about the au jus sauce that comes with the French Dip sandwich. “Take it from a real firefighter,” the sandwich shop remarked.

Locations Closed Over the Summer

This marks a bit of a turnaround from the brand’s earlier spate of bad luck over the summer, when it was announced that three locations were on the chopping block amidst its new menu’s debut.

According to The U.S. Sun, the well-known sandwich restaurant closed at least one site in Washington state, and there were indications at the time that three more would follow.

“Firehouse Subs in West Richland is closed,” the poster said on Facebook, displaying a sign announcing the closure of one location. According to rumors, the other three Tri-Cities sites were also on the chopping block.

Although the Facebook post’s sign on the door stated “unforeseen circumstances,” many users referred to high prices as a possible explanation for the shop’s closure. Firehouse Subs’ tendency to employ convicted felons may possibly contribute to its lack of appeal.

In 2019, it was disclosed that food franchises such as MOD Pizza, McDonald’s, and Firehouse Subs were hiring ex-offenders to address the labor shortage.

The website 70 Million Jobs has a job portal that helps people with criminal histories find work. The website claims that they look for those who have completed their sentences and can stay out of trouble in the future. Low-level drug offenders are eligible, while those convicted of more serious offenses are typically not. Other websites seem to offer the same service, and many well-known retailers are hiring ex-offenders.

According to a Fast Company piece published around the same time, between 60% and 75% of those released from prison have not found employment within a year. However, according to a survey cited in the same article, 78% of Americans are comfortable purchasing from a company that uses ex-cons.

According to a MOD Pizza spokesperson who spoke to Bloomberg, ex-felons often stay in the neighborhood and some even go on to promote inside the firm. Having a steady job might provide ex-offenders a reason to get out of bed, stay sober, and do other things.
