Food insecurity hits U.S. college campuses

Surveys of 167,000 college students at community and four-year colleges and universities has found widespread issues with access to food. Over 50 percent of two-year college students and 44 percent of those in four-year programs are “worried whether my food would run out before I got more money to buy more,” according to the Hope Center for College, Community, and Justice.
