Jewel-Osco makes bid for Strack & Van Til stores

Jewel-Osco has bid about $100 million to acquire 19 Strack & Van Til stores in northwest Indiana from Central Grocers. The deal, if approved, would extend Jewel-Osco’s reach into Indiana, where it currently operates four stores. Central Grocers has filed for Chapter 11.
