Kroger may grab up Walgreens, Rite Aid locations

Walgreens is expected to off-load around 500 locations in order to satisfy regulators reviewing its acquisition of Rite Aid. Kroger, which had originally expressed interest in buying Rite Aid, is said to be eyeing a good number of those stores. Kroger, with its 2,200 in-store pharmacies, happens to be the country’s fifth-largest pharmacy operator.
