Lenders pushing Sears to liquidate

Sears Holdings has gone to banks for an emergency loan to operating after its CEO and biggest investor, Eddie Lampert, decided against lending the company any more money. The banks, however, are pushing Sears to pursue a Chapter 7 bankruptcy and liquidate operations rather than a Chapter 11 reorganization.
