Nearly 200 million Americans own a smartphone

More than 197 million people in the U.S. owned a smartphone in December, according to comScore. Nearly 43 percent of those used Apple devices, followed by Samsung at 28.4 percent, LG 9.9 percent, Motorola 5.3 percent and HTC at 3.3 percent.
