Outdoor Retailer show leaving Utah over public lands dispute

The twice-yearly Outdoor Retailer show plans to move its convention from Salt Lake City “as soon as possible” after Utah Gov. Gary Herbert refused to put an end to a resolution passed by the state’s legislature asking President Trump to remove the National Monument designation given to Bears Ears. Public lands, according to the Outdoor Industry Association, “provide the backbone” for the industry’s sales.
