John Schnatter, founder of Papa John’s who recently resigned as the pizza chain’s chairman after uttering a racial slur during a media training session, held talks with Wendy’s about a possible merger between the two companies. Talks fell off after reports that Mr. Schnatter had used the “n-word” as a point of illustration in the session.
