Choices Market brand relaunch: The ‘Heartbeet’ of Healthy Lifestyles

TORONTO, CANADA, August 9, 2023 – Today, Choices Market – BC’s premier destination for local, specialty and organic foods – officially launched a new logo and brand experience. The company’s website, newsletter and supporting communications have been updated with a fresh, contemporary look and feel, built around a striking ‘Heartbeet’ logo.
Customers will also soon enjoy a new store experience, starting with the Parksville, BC, location on Vancouver Island, set to unveil August 31st. The evolution of the brand represents a renewal of Choices Market’s passion for helping customers discover great choices to nourish their body and mind.

While the brand’s new identity represents a departure from the existing look, the essence of Choices Market’s commitment to its customers remains the same. “We’re focused on offering the very best choices of local, organic and specialty food and wellness items,” says Tyler Romano, Choices Market’s Director of Marketing. “This refresh will help reinvigorate our brand – particularly with younger shoppers – while maintaining the values, service and offerings our existing customer base has come to love and expect from us.”
Choices Market collaborated with strategic-creative retail consultancy, Rodmell & Company, to create a new brand essence, identity, store concept, and marketing communications.

Anchoring the new look is the emphatically bold ‘heartbeet’ icon. The heart symbolizes the retailer’s deeply felt care for the health of its customers, communities, and the environment. The beet represents Choices’ genuine and earthy commitment to promoting fresh, local, organic and specialty foods.

“The logo is, literally, at the heart of the new brand”, says Rodmell. “While not everyone will see the heart in the beet right away, the intent is to draw in the audience, invoke curiousity and engagement. If we can get people talking about the ‘heart in the beet’, that’s a branding home run.”.
