US Foods Holding Corp., a prominent foodservice distributor in the United States, has announced its agreement to acquire Renzi Foodservice, a broadline distributor based in Watertown, New York.
This acquisition, the company’s first since April 2020 and the first under CEO Dave Flitman’s leadership, will enable US Foods to expand its presence in central upstate New York where it currently lacks a distribution center. Renzi Foodservice, a family-owned business, generates over $180 million in annual revenue and serves a diverse customer base, including independent restaurants, healthcare facilities, schools, government organizations, and convenience stores. The company will continue its operations at its existing 110,000 square foot facility.
US Foods CEO Dave Flitman expressed excitement about the acquisition, emphasizing the company’s commitment to delivering on its long-range plan and enhancing its position in the region. Renzi Foodservice CEO Jude Renzi expressed his pride in joining forces with US Foods, highlighting the shared values of customer value and employee growth.
The acquisition is subject to regulatory approval and is expected to close in the third quarter of 2023. The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. US Foods, headquartered in Rosemont, Illinois, partners with approximately 250,000 restaurants and foodservice operators, offering a broad and innovative food portfolio, as well as e-commerce, technology, and business solutions.
