REI reports gains in memberships, sales and profits

REI, the outdoor co-op, reported that its active membership ranks increased to 6.3 million last year with sales reaching a record high of $2.56 billion in 2016. Net income, also a record, improved to $38.3 million after REI gave members $193.7 million in annual dividends and credit card rebates.
