Retailer subscription programs face closer scrutiny following the Federal Trade Commission’s suit against Amazon.com for allegedly tricking “millions of consumers” into signing up for the Prime program. William Kovacic, a professor at George Washington University Law School and former commissioner of the FTC, said other retailers should be concerned about what the agency’s suit against Amazon could mean for them.
