Snapchat’s new AR acquisition could add a new dimension to retailer messaging

Snapchat’s parent company, Snap Inc., has acquired Cimagine Media, an Israeli augmented reality start-up whose software gives users the ability to see what products look like in store environments. Shapchat has been tight-lipped about the acquisition. The fast-rising social platform has recently been challenged by a similar self-destructing messaging feature recently introduced by Instagram.
