Starbucks union fever spreads to D.C.

Hoping to follow the lead of a Starbucks store in Buffalo, NY — the first ever to unionize — workers at a Washington, D.C. Starbucks are working with SB Workers United to organize. In a letter sent to the chain and made public, the union explained that workers did not view this as a reactionary decision based on particular workplace grievances. “We see unionizing as a fundamental and necessary way to participate in Starbucks and its future as partners,” the letter read.
