T-Mobile Includes Hulu With Ads in Go5G Next Plan
January 4, 2024
T-Mobile announced that starting on Jan. 24, its Go5G Next plan is getting even more exciting with the addition of Hulu (with ads). This is the latest streaming service addition to the plan, following Netflix and Apple TV Plus.
This new offer isn’t just for new subscribers; existing Go5G Next customers will also benefit. However, if you’re on a different plan with T-Mobile, you’ll need to switch to the Go5G Next plan to enjoy Hulu. T-Mobile’s other plans, like Magenta Max or Go5G Plus, come with services like Netflix and Apple TV Plus, but the Hulu bundle is exclusively for the Go5G Next plan.
But what else does Go5G Next offer? As T-Mobile’s top-tier plan, it boasts unlimited high-speed phone data and 50GB of high-speed hotspot data. It also gives you the chance to upgrade your phone every 12 months under the carrier’s aggressive trade-in deals.
Like T-Mobile’s other plans, the Go5G Next plan comes with international data and texting when you’re overseas. It makes things straightforward by including taxes and fees in the sticker price. The cost? $100 per month for a single line, or $215 per month for four lines. However, unlike AT&T and Verizon, T-Mobile requires all users on the same account to have the same plan.
To put this into perspective, a subscription to Hulu’s ad-supported plan usually costs $8 per month. Apple TV Plus is $10 per month, and the Netflix Standard plan (included in T-Mobile plans with two or more lines) is $15.50 per month. Single-line users get Netflix Basic (previously $10 per month). In addition, T-Mobile customers often receive MLB.TV subscriptions thanks to the carrier’s partnership with Major League Baseball.
T-Mobile previously allowed users to pay the difference if they wanted to upgrade their Netflix plan. It’s currently unconfirmed whether this option will also be available for Hulu users who may wish to upgrade to an ad-free Hulu plan ($18 per month) or opt for one of Disney’s bundles that include Hulu, Disney Plus, and ESPN Plus.
This is just the latest example of how wireless services are evolving, incorporating streaming services directly into their plans. It’s clear that T-Mobile continues to enhance its offerings to provide the best entertainment package for its subscribers.
