Target’s redesign to make stores more shopper-friendly

Joe Perdew, vice president store planning & design at Target, calls the current redesigning of the chain’s stores “the most ambitious’ in his 22 years with the company. While past redesigns were almost exclusively focused on operational efficiency with little emphasis on the shopping experience – Mr. Perdew said about five percent for the latter – about 20 percent of the new design is dedicated to improving customer’s visits to Target’s stores.
