UPS wants access to your mailbox

The U.S. Treasury Department, investigating ways to aid the cash-strapped Post Office, recently recommended that the service be allowed to sell mailbox access to third party carriers. UPS likes the idea. According to CEO David Abney, as told to CNBC, “We think it helps the consumer, because no one wants to get a delivery notice at their door saying they didn’t get a package.”
