Walmart CEO Doug McMillon thinks American consumers are generally in the same financial position as they were in the fourth quarter of last year, which should mean the retailer’s business will remain relatively strong in the near term. Mr. McMillon was less certain about growth prospects for the second part of 2019 and early 2020.
