WcDonald’s Anime Universe Comes to Life

In a groundbreaking move, McDonald’s is bringing the beloved WcDonald’s universe from anime fiction into reality. This collaboration with some of the top names in anime promises to revolutionize dining experiences globally. Starting on Feb. 26, over 30 markets will witness the transformation, offering fans a taste of their animated dreams.

The star of the show? A new limited-time Savory Chili WcDonald’s Sauce, tantalizing taste buds with a fusion of ginger, garlic, soy, and a kick of chili flakes. Paired perfectly with an order of WcNuggets, it’s a flavor explosion fit for any anime hero.

But it doesn’t stop at the menu. Renowned Japanese manga artist Acky Bright has lent his talent to design custom packaging, transporting diners deeper into the WcDonald’s universe with every meal. Scan the code for weekly digital manga drops, featuring a vibrant cast of WcDonald’s characters.

“I had a great time partnering with McDonald’s to help make WcDonald’s a reality for manga fans who have a genuine love for the brand,” Bright said. “From the details of the diverse Crew characters to the manga plot itself, I loved being able to use my artwork to bring to life the dynamic, vibrant world of WcDonald’s for people around the world.”

Fans can also prepare for the first official WcDonald’s anime, a collaboration with Studio Pierrot. Four episodic shorts will explore the flavorful world of WcDonald’s, spanning action, romance, mecha, and fantasy subgenres. Accompanied by weekly manga releases, it’s a feast for the senses.

For the ultimate immersive experience, dive into the first-ever IRL WcDonald’s in Los Angeles on March 9 through 10. Inspired by isekai anime, guests will be transported through 360 projection mapping and tabletop projections, all while enjoying a WcDonald’s set menu.

But let’s not forget the fans. WcDonald’s is celebrating the creativity of anime fan art, offering grants to three up-and-coming artists. With a mentorship from Acky Bright himself, it’s a chance to fuel their anime-inspired dreams.
