Wendy’s Has All-New Menu Items for Summer. Here Are the Details

Wendy’s has announced that it is adding some all-new menu items for the summer. It’s unclear, however, whether these menu additions are permanent or only for a limited time. Regardless, let’s take a look at what we know about these new offerings.
Wendy’s New Menu Items Include Bold Takes on Classic Flavors
The Fast Food Club is reporting that Wendy’s is getting its customers ready for swimsuit weather with all-new beach-friendly items. Beginning April 16, you can now try the new Cajun Crunch Sandwich, which has seasoned chicken, Pepper Jack cheese, and crispy onions. There’s also your standard burger toppings of pickles and lettuce slathered with spicy mustard.
Additionally, you can now try the new Tangerine Twist Lemonade, which is a summer-appropriate blend of tangerine and tropical flavors.
Another new menu item is the chain’s collaboration with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products, which features a kids’ meal with DC Super Heroes and Villains toys. With this limited-time offer for youngsters and collectors, you’ll receive your fix of Batman, Harley Quinn, and Black Lightning.
The kids’ meal includes:
- Your choice of four-piece chicken nuggets, hamburger, or cheeseburger
- Jr. Hot & Crispy Fries or Apple Bites
- Kid’s drink
As of April 14, you can get a free Wendy’s Kids’ Meal by buying a premium combo meal online or through the app.
Frosty Treats for Everyone
Of course, the new Wendy’s menu items wouldn’t be complete without an array of Frosty desserts, including new fusion options.
“Frosty has been on Wendy’s menu for 55 years and is one of the most iconic frozen treats in American culture. We’re expanding on our beloved Frosty so when a sweet tooth strikes, the choice is easy for consumers: It’s Gotta Be Wendy’s,” said Lindsay Radkoski, U.S. CMO, in a press release announcement that dropped on April 10.
“We know consumers are always on the lookout for new flavors and ways to customize their order with sauces and mix-ins. We can’t wait for everyone to experience even more ways to enjoy our iconic Frosty!” she added.
First up are the new Frosty Swirls menu options. These delicious delicacies became available to order through the app on April 11 and in restaurants nationwide on April 15.
The process begins with diners selecting their preferred Frosty flavor — Wendy’s now offers chocolate, vanilla, chocolate Thin Mints, and vanilla Thin Mints — and then choosing one of three sauces to accompany the ice cream:
- Strawberry Frosty Swirl: Just as it sounds, this sauce is sweet, juicy, and tastes like fresh strawberries.
- Caramel Frosty Swirl: Ramping up the sweetness factor, Wendy’s describes this flavor profile as tasting like “a cold, creamy candy bar.”
- Brownie Batter Frosty Swirl: Decadent and bursting with deep chocolate flavor, this could be a winner for choco-holics.
Frosty Fusions will be available in restaurants on May 12, and unlike Frosty Swirls, these versions focus on the popular subject of mix-ins to add a unique quality. The following options will be available:
- Pop-Tarts Strawberry Frosty Fusion: In a collab with quick snack favorite Pop-Tarts, this fusion features “sweet strawberry sauce with chunks of strawberry-flavored Pop-Tarts Crunchy Poppers pieces,” per Wendy’s.
- OREO Brownie Frosty Fusion: The OREO McFlurry may have to watch its back, as this concoction draws from the Frosty Swirl sauce of the same name while also mixing in delicious chunks of OREO cookies.
- Caramel Crunch Frosty Fusion: Sweet caramel sauce blended with crisp toffee pieces. What more is there to say?
In addition, the fast-food restaurant said that it would be enhancing both the cup and spoon that Frosty treats are served in, adding a domed cover ideal for fry-dippers and a revamped blue Frosty spoon for a better scoop.
