Service sellers flock to the mall

A study by JLL found that the number of service-based businesses in malls, such as nail salons, restaurants and spas, grew to 1.2 million storefronts between 2002 and 2017. That compares to shops selling goods, such as specialty clothing retailers, which fell 4.5 percent to 1.1 million locations over the same period.
