Senate approves bill allowing ISPs to sell consumer data

Federal rules prohibiting internet service providers from selling or sharing consumer usage information have been blocked by the Senate. Business groups welcomed the legislation while privacy groups said it was an example of putting corporate profits above the interest of individuals.
