U.S. household debt at record high

Household debt in the U.S. has topped the record level set in 2008, according to the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. Debt has increased to $12.73 trillion, 14.1 percent higher than it was in 2013. Since 2008, American household debt on student and auto loans has increased steadily while mortgage debt is up slightly.
