Dollar General CEO Todd Vasos told the Wall Street Journal that, in an environment in which many major retailers are editing store counts and going with smaller locations, his chain plans to open thousands more stores, “mostly in small communities that have otherwise shown few signs of the U.S. economic recovery.”
