Coach makes deal to acquire Kate Spade

Coach and Kate Spade have agreed on a $2.4 billion deal that will combine the two luxury handbag brands. Coach will pay Kate Spade’s shareholders $18.50 a share, a 28 percent premium to the stock’s closing price on Dec. 27.
