EU to retaliate as new U.S. tariffs go through

The Trump administration has announced plans — to take effect on Oct. 18 — to place 25 percent tariffs on agricultural imports including butter, cheese, olives and wine along with other products from the European Union worth $7.5 billion. The EU has said it will place tariffs of its own on imports from the U.S.
