Supervalu has a proxy fight on its hands

The investment firm, Blackwells Capital, has launched a proxy fight with Supervalu to try and push the company to spin off its retail operations and sell itself. Blackwells has nominated six independent directors to Supervalu’s board in an effort to take effective control of the company.
