Patina gift shops entered 2020 with plans to open two additional stores in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area. Instead, the independent shop was forced to close stores with other non-essential retailers. With businesses starting to reopen to customers, Patina is faced with an uncertain future, according to co-owner Christine Ward. “We’re working five times harder for one-fifth of the sales we had before March,” she said.
