Walgreens to sell more assets to make Rite Aid deal

Walgreens is working on a deal to sell even more assets to the Fred’s discount chain in order to gain approval from the Federal Trade Commission for its acquisition of Rite Aid. The latest deal with Fred’s is likely to include more than the 865 stores Walgreens initially planned to sell. Fred’s would also get rights to the Rite Aid name for a period beyond the 24 months originally planned.
